Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of the SecondFix website (secondfix.build) and application (app.secondfix.build). By using SecondFix, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

1. The service

SecondFix is a business management platform for UK tradespeople. It provides tools for job management, quoting, invoicing, team management, and customer communication. The service is provided "as is" and is under active development.

We may add, change, or remove features at any time. We will aim to give reasonable notice of significant changes.

2. Accounts

• You must provide a valid email address to create an account.
• You are responsible for all activity under your account.
• You must not share your login credentials or magic link emails with anyone.
• You must be at least 18 years old to use SecondFix.
• One person or business may hold one account. Team members are managed through the team feature, not separate accounts.

3. Waiting list

By joining the waiting list on secondfix.build, you consent to receiving emails about SecondFix launch updates and early access. You can unsubscribe at any time by emailing hello@secondfix.build.

4. Your data

• You own the data you put into SecondFix (job details, quotes, invoices, photos, etc.).
• We do not claim any intellectual property rights over your content.
• You grant us a licence to store, process, and display your data solely for the purpose of providing the service.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use SecondFix for any unlawful purpose
• Upload malicious files, viruses, or harmful content
• Attempt to access other users' data or accounts
• Use automated scripts, bots, or scrapers against the service
• Resell or redistribute the service without our written consent
• Use the service to send unsolicited communications (spam)

6. Quotes and invoices

SecondFix helps you create and send quotes and invoices, but:

• You are solely responsible for the accuracy of your quotes, invoices, and financial data.
• SecondFix is not an accounting service and does not provide tax, legal, or financial advice.
• You are responsible for ensuring your invoices comply with HMRC requirements (e.g. correct VAT treatment).
• We do not guarantee that customers will pay invoices sent through the platform.

7. Availability

We aim to keep SecondFix available at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Downtime may occur for maintenance, updates, or reasons beyond our control. We will not be liable for any loss caused by service unavailability.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

• SecondFix is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.
• We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.
• Our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose (or £100, whichever is greater).
• Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

9. Termination

• You may close your account at any time by emailing hello@secondfix.build.
• We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms or if we reasonably believe your use poses a risk to the service or other users.
• On termination, we will retain your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy (including any legal retention obligations).

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you by email or by displaying a notice on the website. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
